PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which is excellent in the corrosion resistance of a metal reflection layer and which can be used and preserved for a long time under high temperature and high humidity conditions. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium includes a recording layer 2 including organic dyestuff, a reflection layer 3 consisting of an alloy consisting of, or consisting essentially of silver and a protective layer 4 on a substrate 1. The recording layer 2 includes a benzotriazole-based compound represented by the general formula (1) together with the dyestuff. Due to the presence of this compound, the optical recording medium has high corrosion resistance of the metal reflection layer and excellent recording and reproducing characteristics in its use and long term preservation under high temperature and high humidity conditions. |
