<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform initial adjustment for a pad clearance in changing of a brake pad of an electrical disk brake. SOLUTION: A ball ramp mechanism 27 is driven by an electric motor 12, brake pads 6, 7 are pressed against a disc rotor 2 by a piston 28, and braking force is generated. The relative positions of the piston 28 and the ball ramp mechanism 27 with respect to a movable disc 33 are adjusted by a pad abrasion follow-up mechanism composed of a limiter mechanism 30 and a screw part 48 according to abrasion of the brake pads 6, 7, and the abrasion of the pad is compensated. In changing the brake pads 6, 7, if a pad clearance is excessively large, the electric motor 12 is rotated by a prescribed angle of rotation, to advance the piston 28 and then return it to the initial position. Generation of motor torque is monitored, these processes are repeated until motor torque is generated. When the generation of motor torque is detected, initial adjustment of the pad clearance is finished.</p> |
