PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas diffusion electrode for a fuel cell that has excellent proton conductivity and at the same time better gas diffusivity. SOLUTION: In this gas diffusion electrode for solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell, the catalyst layers comprises proton conductive a solid polymer electrolyte having holes communicating with catalyst particles, and a porous resin which has no proton conductivity.
