PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect and remove sewing thread which becomes an obstacle when decomposing the sewing thread constituting a tatami mat for recycle without leaving the sewing thread in straw or foaming board, the thread being difficult to find by human eye if it is mixed in straw, while the straw cannot by utilized as spreading straw in an animal breeding house, because of the possibility that livestock eat the sewing thread together with the straw, which is very dangerous because of indigestion of a sewing thread made of a chemical product in livestock's bodies, and recycling of the foaming board becomes impossible if impurities having different components such as straw and thread are mixed for producing pellets of good quality. SOLUTION: In this simple method in which a warp is continuously cut on a rear side without cutting a tatami mat into slices by dividing into two upper and lower parts and weft and the warp are simultaneously pulled out by a comblike fitting from a tatami surface side while the tatami mat is loosened, it is possible to avoid mixing of the sewing thread in recycling and to keep the thread to be pulled out at a length twice so as to remove and collect the sewing thread stably and securely.
