PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast program view system, by which a viewer can edit broadcast programs and view them from a viewpoint in which the viewer's preference is reflected. SOLUTION: A hard disk 12 which is a random accessible storage device stores broadcast programs through a TV tuner 11. Furthermore, attribute information is acquired through a modem 13 and stored temporarily in a main memory 14. The timing to acquire the attribute information can be made at any time prior to, during or after broadcasting. Then the viewer enters an extracted character string by using an entry means, such as a keyboard. Then the system acquires which information a viewer or the like desires to obtain among stored broadcast programs as preference information. The acquired preference information is compared with the attribute information, and the main memory 14 stores a start time and an end time of a program denoted by program contents information in the attribute information and the preference information and coincident with or similar to each other between the attribute information and the preference information. The stored programs are reproduced sequentially from the start time to the end time, that is stored in the main memory 14.
