PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make preliminarily specifiable a read density in accordance with the use target of read image information in an image information reader. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a read density designating means 48. The means 48 judges and decides with what read density to read on the basis of a photographic menu in the registered information of an ID code inputted from an IDT 50 and designates the decided read density in an image reading part 43. The part 43 changes read density in a vertical scanning direction by setting the carrier speed to a low-speed in a high density reading mode and a high-speed in a low density reading mode. In the case of digitizing a read image signal, the read density in a horizontal scanning direction is changed by making a sampling cycle short in the high density reading mode and the sampling cycle long in the low density reading mode. |
