PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for a handle, allowing mounting of the handle at a lower cost only by preparing one insert member regardless of the type of a spindle shaft of a faucet. SOLUTION: In this handle mounting structure D, where the handle H is mounted via the insert member 3 on the spindle shaft 2 for moving a valve element close to or apart from a valve seat provided in the faucet 1, the insert member 3 has a head 5 at one end, to which the handle H is fixed, and a cylindrical portion 7 at the other end, on the inner wall of which an inner serration 7a is provided for engagement with an outer serration 2a formed at one end of the spindle shaft 2. The inner serration 7a is composed of a plurality of mountains 9, 9 formed at both ends of the inner wall of the cylindrical portion 7.
