PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase brightness of AC type PDP equipped with retaining electrodes which consist only thick metal films. SOLUTION: Retaining electrodes 10, 20 made of thick metal film consist of (i) bases 15, 25 that extend along the second direction D2, and (ii) projections 16, 26 that are connected to the bases 15, 25, and extend toward the retaining electrodes 10, 20 on the other side with respect to the base 15. The projections 16, 26 consist of (ii-1) respective two of the first portions 161, 261 are connected to the bases 15, 25 at ends in the second direction D2 and extend along the first direction D1, (ii-2) the second portions 162, 262 that are connected to the ends of the retaining electrodes 10, 20 among ends in the first direction D1 of the first portions 161, 261, and mutually connect two of the first portions 161, 261, (ii-3) the third portions 163, 263 that are joined to the first portions 161, 262 from the far side of the second portions 162, 262 and mutually connect the two of the first portions 161, 261. |
