PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female connecting terminal maintaining good connection state by allowing smooth and undamaging inserting of male connecting terminal. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises a box shape of connecting portion 4, elastic contacting pieces 5 bent to a rear side of inner space from a front side of the connecting portion 4, and an inserting space into which a male connecting terminal 45 is inserted between an upper surface of the elastic contacting pieces 5 and an inner surface of the connecting portion 4 in state contacted elastically with the elastic contacting pieces 5. In the elastic contacting pieces 5, protrusion 8 having slanted surfaces is formed on the upper surface thereof, the slanted surfaces coincide with slanted surfaces 46 of the male connecting terminal 45 inserted into the inserting space 7 in a certain angle. Therefore, the female connecting terminal suppress rapid increasing of inserting resistance the male connecting terminal 45 to the protrusion 8, so that maximum inserting resistance also can be maintained as a lower level.
