PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer tank support structure of a vertical heat insulating low temperature tank with no trouble even by supporting an outer tank on a support skirt in directly supporting the inner tank on a foundation by the support skirt. SOLUTION: A heat radiation and reinforcing ring 33 is provided on an outer periphery of a support skirt 14, and the heat radiation and reinforcing ring 33 and a lower part of a side plate 22 of an outer tank 18 are connected to each other by a reverse truncated conical cone 24, on an outer tank support structure of a vertical heat radiation and low temperature tank to support the inner tank 10 storing low temperature liquid on a foundation 15 through the support skirt 14 and to support the outer tank 18 to surround the inner tank 10 on the support skirt.
