OPTICAL CIRCUIT ELEMENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical circuit element, especially, an optical circulator with an excellent extinction ratio which can be inexpensively and easily manufactured. SOLUTION: This optical circuit element is constituted of the combination of two polarized light separating elements, two total reflecting mirrors, at least one polarized face rotating element independent of a light progressing direction, at least one polarized face rotating element dependent on the light progressing direction, plural light incident and outgoing ports, and a magnetic field impressing means. In this case, the polarized light separating elements and the total reflecting mirrors are respectively formed of the same or different polymer multi-layered films.
