PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the ingress of dust and the like into between a commutator and a brush and efficiently cool a brush holder, with respect to a power tool that is provided with a front casing for housing a commutator motor and a rear casing installed on the rear part of the front casing, and the commutator motor of which is cooled by an air flow from the rear casing side to the front casing side. SOLUTION: A front casing 14 is provided with an opening 19 for inserting the brush 40 held on a brush holder 32 toward a commutator, and is on both sides of the brush 40 inserted into the opening 19 with two dust preventing walls 16a and 16b extending in the axial direction. The brush holder 32 is provided with a cooling plate 37, and the cooling plate 37 is brought into contact with the rim of the opening 19 on the rear casing 12 side and also with both the dust preventing walls 16a and 16b.
