PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary cell of a high capacity using a sulfur-based positive electrode active material. SOLUTION: A metal polysulfide having a high electrochemical activity is synthesized by reacting a metal salt with an element sulfur, and a positive electrode is formed comprising this and a complex comprising the metal polysulfide as a positive electrode active material, a conductor and a binder, and the secondary cell is formed comprising the positive electrode, negative electrode and an electrolyte which is chemically stable to the positive and negative electrodes and moves an ion between these electrodes. The metal polysulfide forming the positive electrode active material is preferably a metal polysulfide represented by formula MSx (where, M is a metal and x is a number of at least 2), and the electrolyte is preferably a gel polymer electrolyte. |
