PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finder for obtaining a difference signal between a pair of image signals using a normal light removing means, and then deciding a range finding area based on this. SOLUTION: This range finder is provided with photodetecting elements 4a and 4b for separately photodetecting a pair of field images formed by an optical system having parallax, and then outputting a pair of field signals, a light projecting source 14 for projecting range finding pulse light to plural range finding areas, normal light removing parts 17a and 17b for detecting normal light component of one of the pair of field image signals when the light source 14 is actuated, and then removing the normal light component of the other field image signal so as to select the active/non-active state of a function of removing the normal light component from the output of the photodetecting means, SW1 to SW4 for switching the operative/inoperative state of the normal light removing parts 17a and 17b, and a photocurrent integration part 5 for setting a range finding area, based on the output signals of the normal light removing parts 17a and 17b. |
