PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data cartridge having satisfactory pack forming, the low consumption of electric power, low stamps of a tape left in both edge parts of a belt, point stability of a nip, nip force independent from belt tension and satisfactory starting/stopping performance. SOLUTION: A yoke 30 in which a tape pack is mounted around hubs 46, 47 is included in the data cartridge 10. Idler rollers 44, 45 are also mounted on the yoke 30. The yoke 30 is provided with a slot 40 and is arranged through the slot. A fixing pin 41 is connected to the housing 11 of the cartridge 10. One end of the yoke is attached to the connecting pin 42 of a yoke 33 and the other end of the yoke is provided with a spring 43 connected to the fixing pin 41. Then, the yoke 30 is energized in the direction advancing toward the hubs 46, 47 by the tension of the spring. The yoke 30 is moved at the degree 2 of freedom when the tape pack is removed from one hub 46 to the other hub 47.
