PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer device and a data transfer method which improve the use efficiency of a ring bus. SOLUTION: The data transfer device stores data, which is sent from each of multiple nodes 0 to 3 connected to a ring bus 10, in slots sent in one direction on the ring bus to transfer this data to some of multiple nodes, and each of nodes 0 to 3 detects whether data destined for the node itself exists in a slot facing another node above the node itself or not; and if data consigned for the node itself exists there as the detection result, the node takes in data consigned for the node itself when this slot faces the node itself.
