PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple mode dielectric resonator having TM and TE modes multiplexed that facilitates coupling between the resonance modes and can take many sequential coupling stages of the resonance modes per single dielectric core and to provide a filter and a duplexer using the dielectric resonator and a communication device using them. SOLUTION: The dielectric core 10 placed in a cavity 2 consists of a TM mode dielectric core section 11 and of a TE mode dielectric core section 12 that is swollen e.g. spherically from the core section 11 in vertical direction so that 5 mode, namely,; TXm mode, TMy mode, TEx mode, a TEy mode and TEz mode are multiplexed.
