PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device with an excellent characteristic and a low height that can process signals with a plurality of frequencies. SOLUTION: This invention provides the surface acoustic wave device where surface acoustic wave elements consisting of excitation electrodes 11 and 12 formed on a major side of piezoelectric substrates 1 and 8 are joined via a frame-shaped adhesive member 5 surrounding the excitation electrodes 11 and 12 that are opposed to each other.
