PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communications equipment which can prevent sharp degradation of transmission rate and can reduce the time and labor required for communication. SOLUTION: This image communications equipment, which can be connected to an ISDN being a digital line network and a PSTN being a public analog line network, is provided with a modem for making an image communication even when the image communications equipment is connected to the ISDN or the PSTN and a transmission level control means for changing the transmission level of the modem in accordance with the modem being used for the ISDN or connected to the PSTN.
