PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for a heat developable photosensitive material by which rapid processing can be carried out and small dependency of the line width of letters (practical sensitivity) on light exposure is ensured. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, a heat developable photosensitive material containing a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a nucleating agent, a binder and at least one compound of formula A on the substrate is heat-developed at 140-700 cm/min line speed. In the formula A, R1-R3, X1 and X2 are each H, halogen or a substituent bonding to the benzene ring by way of C, O, N, S or P but at least one of X1 and X2 is -NR4R5 (R4 and R5 are each H, alkyl, -SO2-R6, -SO-R6 or the like and R6 and R7 are each H or alkyl).
