PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an erroneous recognition effectively by naturally changing the display of remaining capacity. SOLUTION: In this method for displaying remaining capacity, the display range of remaining capacity is divided into an intermediate display range to display the average value of the remaining capacity of a plurality of battery units 2, an upper-limit switching range and maximum display range to display a remaining capacity larger than the intermediate display range, and a lower-limit switching rang and minimum display range to display a remaining capacity smaller than the intermediate display range. The upper-limit switching range is provided between the intermediate display range and maximum display range, and the lower-limit switching range is provided between the intermediate display range and minimum display range. The remaining capacity of a maximum capacity unit is displayed in the maximum display range, and the remaining capacity of a minimum capacity unit is displayed in the minimum display range. An upper limit is gradually changed from an average value to the remaining capacity of a maximum capacity unit to display remaining capacity in the upper-limit switching range, and a lower limit is gradually changed from an average value to the remaining capacity of a minimum capacity unit to display remaining capacity in the lower-limit switching range.
