Sickness insurance data is held on a plastic card with an integrated circuit (chip) for the name, address, health insurance number etc. of the holder, and to extend the application of the card outside of the health insurance system can be achieved with a computer system for conducting personal-related data, such as bonus points accounts or computer accounts, via a central station. A card reading device (30) electronically identifies data from the sickness insurance card (32), and an input device (34) input additional data, such as PIN-number and bonus points or computer entries. In addition, the computer system comprises at least one memory device (38) and at least one processing device (40), which receives data from the card reading device (30) and the input device and is connected to a memory device (38). The processing device (40) also reads personal-related data from the data bank.
