In a slope stabilising means, a single borehole (4) comprises both a ground anchorage (7) and a soil nail means (18), comprising a tensile member bonded to the bore grout along substantially its whole length. The slope stabilising means has the advantage of allowing the ground to be pre-stressed using the ground anchorage means (7). However, the active zone of the ground (2) is also stabilised by the soil nail means (18), which allows a lighter facing structure (24) to be used than is normal with ground anchorage means. Economy of operations is obtained, as a number of items are included in a single borehole.
