The winding core (2) withdrawing device has a mandrel (4) which is inserted into the core. This consists of an outer sleeve (5) and an inner shaft (6). A plate (7) near the end of the shaft locks against the end of the core once the shaft has passed through it, allowing the core to be withdrawn. A spring (8) on the sleeve holds the plate down while the shaft is passing through the core.
