<p>A lamp device using a high-pressure vapor discharge lamp, comprising a discharge lamp having a light emitting tube containing light emitting substance with a pair of electrodes disposed therein opposedly to each other and a pair of sealing parts extending from the light emitting tube, a reflector reflecting light emitted from the discharge lamp, a transparent member covering an opening part of the reflector and storing the discharge lamp in a space between the reflector and the member, and excessive temperature rise suppressing means suppressing the temperature rise of a welded part of a wiring member connected electrically to an electrode of the discharge lamp, whereby the effects of heating due to increase in output of the lamp and an decrease in size of the reflector can be suppressed.</p> |
