METHOD FOR DISPLAYING STATE OF BROADCASTING PROGRAM

PURPOSE: A method for displaying a state of a broadcasting program is provided for a viewer to confirm promptly the state of the broadcasting program selected by the viewer by displaying the state of a predetermined broadcasting program when the broadcasting program is selected in a broadcasting program guide unit. CONSTITUTION: A channel selected by a user is transmitted to a micro processor and stored in a frame memory. The micro processor decodes a KBPS signal being extracted from a data slicer and creates a broadcasting program guide data and stores in a frame buffer. A TV micro computer controls a tuner for tuning to a specific channel. If a tuner detects a broadcasting signal of a specific channel and outputs a complex video signal, a video signal processing unit performs a medium frequency process and restores the original analogue video signal. The analogue video signal is transmitted to a video displaying unit through a video mixing unit, and a video is displayed on a screen of the video displaying unit. The TV micro computer transmits the information of the current watching channel to the micro processor through an interface unit. The micro processor stores the information of the current watching channel in the frame buffer. The TV micro computer transmits the information to the micro processor whenever the channel is changed. The TV micro computer performs a control for watching a broadcasting and checks whether a key inputted for a broadcasting program guide display by a user exists. If a key inputted for a broadcasting program guide display by a user exists, the TV micro computer transmits a command for displaying a broadcasting program guide to the micro processor through the interface unit.
