PURPOSE: A process for preparing the titled fiber by controlling the modulus, crystallinity and birefringence of yarn in each stage to a suitable range is provided, which reduces the dissolution of a sea component or the lowering of physical properties of yarn during raising fiber. CONSTITUTION: In manufacturing sea-island type conjugate fiber for warp knit fabric having 50 to 90 denier by using an alkali readily soluble copolymerized polyester as a sea component and conventional polyesters as an island component, spinning and drawing, the fiber satisfies the following conditions: 1)a velocity(V1) of a first godet roller;1,000 to 5,000m/min, 2)a velocity(V2) of a second godet roller;1,500 to 6,000m/min, 3)a crystallinity of yarn on the first godet roller;8.5 to 25%, and 4)a birefringence of yarn on the second roller(Δn);0.10 to 0.20.
