PURPOSE: A water temperature controller of a cooling device in a car having a failure determining apparatus and a failure determining method of the water temperature controller are provided to exactly and directly diagnose and repair failure of the water controller of the cooling device. CONSTITUTION: A water temperature controller of the cooling device in the car having a failure determining apparatus includes a housing(11) having a partition sheet(12) dividing the inside of the housing and a hole(16) formed at the center of the partition sheet, an operation unit mounted on an upper portion of the hole for opening and closing the hole, and a sensing unit sensing position of the operation unit for determining whether the water temperature controller is operated accurately or not.
