摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the gain setting for a pixel signal obtained when illuminated with specific wavelength light in an electronic endoscope system structured for allowing selective switching of the illumination between regular light illumination and specific wavelength light illumination. SOLUTION: This electronic endoscope system comprises a scope 10, an image sensor 16 mounted at the distal end of the scope, and an image signal processing unit 14 connected to the proximal end of the scope. A video signal is produced by the image signal processing unit based on a pixel signal obtained by the image sensor. An illumination switching means 88 is to illuminate the front side of the distal end of the scope selectively either with regular light or with specific wavelength light. A variable amplifier 56c is to amplify a pixel signal with an adjustable gain. When the illumination with specific wavelength light is selected by the illumination switching means, the gain setting of the variable amplifier is adjusted by a gain adjusting means 90 which can be manually operated.
