PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a microporous material catalyst used when alkanolamine is manufactured by the reaction of ammonia and alkylene oxide. SOLUTION: The used catalyst is regenerated by treating with an oxidizing agent in the liquid phase, and the regenerated catalyst is then reused in the manufacture of alkanolamine.
