PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for immobilizing microorganism by which the propagation of the microorganisms is promoted in a bioreactor such as a denitrification tank and a nitration tank, the rise time of an treatment apparatus is shortened, and the denitrification and niration rates are increased to shorten the residence time of a liquid to be treated in the tank. SOLUTION: A microorganism is immobilized by this carrier, and a carrier for immobilizing microorganism formed by a material with cyclodextrin bonded to the surface is used. The bonding is preferably attained by bonding a nucleophilic group existing on the material surface to the cyclodextrin having at least one nitrogen-containing heterocycle having at least one electrophilic center.
