PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat and disinfect soil by reducing loss of heat energy. SOLUTION: The surface (1a) of soil (1) is covered with a sheet (4) in a closed state to form a disinfection chamber (6). Steam is supplied from a boiler to the disinfection chamber (6) for a fixed time. The temperature of the fixed upper layer part of the soil (1) is raised to the thermal death temperature of a crop pathogenic fungus or higher than it. A fixed amount of water is sprinkled on the surface (1a) of the soil (1) from a time when the supply of the steam to the disinfection chamber (6) is stopped. |
