<p>Hydrophobically modified polyols, preferably obtainable by reacting at least a portion of the phosphate groups of polyol phosphates having a weight average molecular weight of at least 1,000 with a non-ionic mono-epoxide. The polyol phosphates preferably are compounds selected from the group of (a) phosphorylated polysaccharides, (b) wholly or partially saponified polyvinyl acetate, and (c) homo- or copolymers of polyhydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate. The non-ionic mono-epoxide advantageously comprises a compound of the formula: R1-(OCH2CH(R2))n-Q, wherein R1 has the meaning of a C1-C30 group, R2 is hydrogen or methyl, n is 0-10, and Q stands for a 1,2-epoxy group or a glycidyl ether group.</p> |
