An 85kDa antigen from Neisseria meningitidis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae has been cloned, sequenced and expressed. The antigen is common to diverse strains, serogroups and serotypes of N.meningitidis, and also to N.gonorrhoeae, N.polysaccharia and N.lactamica. The protein sequences of N.meningitids (serogroups A and B) and N.gonorrhoeae are highly homologous.< /SDOAB>
