The dart consists of hollow grip (2), tip (3), and rear shaft (4) with flights (5). The bore (7) in the grip contains a weight system (10) of numerous replaceable cylindrical bars or balls. These are of the same size but different weights, to form darts of different weights. The bore contains an elastic element, e.g. a plastic foam cushion (9), or a compression spring, to fix a bar or several balls in position after assembly of the dart.
