A telecommunication system (10) comprises a telephone network (12) and a computer network (14). Typically, telephone network (12) is either one of the PSTN, global public telephone network, private telephone network, local telephone network, or packet-switched telephone accessible by most public and private telephones (16). Computer network (14) typically is a Frame Relay Cloud network that operates on the Frame Relay network access protocol. Both networks (12) and (14) each connects a call processing center (18) and a customer service center (20). Customer service center (20) typically is run by a stored-value card service provider, and call processing center (18) includes a gateway platform (22) configured to receive calls from telephones (16) on telephone network (12). Center (18) further comprises VRU (26), account database (30), switch (24) and host computer (28). Similarly, center (20) comprises customer service server (32) with terminal (34) connected thereto and payment verification server (60).
