PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an iron oxide for the raw material of ferrite, by which the iron oxide having prescribed powder characteristic values and scarcely containing impurities can be produced from an etching waste liquid, and to provide a device for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing an iron oxide for the raw material of ferrite, having a process for preliminarily treating the amount of ferrous ion to 70 to 95 wt.% based on the total iron amount of an etching waste liquid and a process for spraying and roasting the etching liquid in which the amount of the ferrous ion is adjusted, and a device for producing the iron oxide.
