PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity housing device for an automatic vending machine which can easily confirm the number of residual commodities in a housing cylinder from the outside. SOLUTION: The housing cylinder 6a formed in a transparent or translucent manner so as to visibly recognize a material cartridge 5 in the cylinder 6a from the outside, and the number of residual material cartridges 5 that defines the position as a reference and a plurality of the number of merchandise displaying parts 6c showing the number of commodities that can newly housed are provided on the side face of the cylinder 6a. Therefore, it is possible to easily confirm the number of residual material cartridges 5 in the cylinder 6a from the outside by visual observation and also to know the number of commodities that can newly be housed at the same time. Thus, it is possible to accurately grasp the time to replenish the cartridges 5 and the number of cartridges 5 that can be replenished all the time.
