PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for receiving ground digital broadcasting transmitted by OFDM segment constitution, judging the transmission format of the OFDM segment in a short time and demodulating received digital signals with high reliability. SOLUTION: Reception signals are subjected to FFT (11), squared data (13) after delay detection output (12) is performed for each carrier are used and whether the carrier is a pilot carrier or a data carrier is discriminated (15). By utilizing the fact that the number of the pilot carries included in the OFDM segment is different ina synchronous modulation part and a differential modulation part, the transmission format of the segment is identified (17) and the signals of respective symbols are used for the identification.
