PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated liquid crystal device in which the effects of multiple reflection or unwanted scattering can be suppressed and the contrast can be improved. SOLUTION: The laminated liquid crystal device is prepared by successively laminating liquid crystal layers b, g, r in this order and each liquid crystal layer b, g, r is interposed between the electrode-formed sides of a pair of substrates 1, 2 having electrodes 11, 12 with insulating films 7 interposed between the electrodes 11, 12. The liquid crystal layers b, g, r include at least two liquid crystal layers having the refractive index of the insulating film 7 adjacent to the liquid crystal layer different from each other.
