PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device capable of rapidly diminishing brake squeak. SOLUTION: In the brake device 2 wherein an agitator 30 abutting on a pad 17 is disposed in a piston 16 of a wheel cylinder and the pad 17 is agitated by the agitator 30 so as to reduce vibration noise, a noise waveform sensor 42 for detecting a prescribed vibration noise condition is arranged. In the case where brake squeak is detected by the noise waveform sensor 42, surface pressure in the abutting part of the pad 17 and the agitator 30 is reduced, and thereby, the brake squeak is rapidly diminished.
