PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the temperature of exhaust gas to be released into the air with a deodorization function kept, to enable exhaust without the restriction of an installation place, to reduce an operation cost, and to reduce a heating load in a heating/deodorizing part. SOLUTION: In a garbage treatment apparatus A, exhaust gas from a garbage treatment tank 1 housing a garbage treating material containing microorganisms is heated/deodorized by the heating/deodorizing part 22 and released from an outlet into the air. A high temperature side passage 70a for leading the heated exhaust gas from the part 22 to the outlet 9 and a low temperature side passage 70b are installed in the tank 1, and a heat exchange part 70 in which heat is exchanged between the passage 70a and the passage 70b is formed.
