PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, different from a conventional processing method, which can continuously extrude a polymer containing a PAN homopolymer and a high nitrile (acrylonitrile content of 96-100 wt.%) at a temperature considerably lower than 320 deg.C, which is the thermodynamical melting point of the polymer, without using a solvent or a plasticizer into a molding. SOLUTION: Acrylonitrile homopolymer or a copolymer containing a high acrylonitrile content (95-100%) can be extruded into moldings without using a solvent or a plasticizer. The moldings include thick-walled moldings such as bars and tubes (profile extrusion) which have been impossible to be extrusion- molded from the polymers of an acrylonitrile by other methods. The extruded molding keeps orientation formed in an extrusion process.
