PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat for sitting in Japanese fashion whose height, inclination and the like can be adjusted in more number of levels than a conventional seat and which exhibits a good appearance, a high stability and a high degree of comfort. SOLUTION: With regard to the seat for sitting in Japanese fashion which is comprised of a seat plate extending in the horizontal direction, leg plates which are mounted on both sides of the seat plate for supporting it and coin bolts for coupling and fixing the seat plate and the leg plates, ribs are formed on the lower edges of the sides of the seat plate and the coin bolts are screwed from their inside toward onimenuts provided on the leg plates. In this case, small narrow parts which fit the shafts of the coin bolts are formed in the upper parts of the ribs and large parts which fit the heads of the coin bolts are formed in the lower parts of the ribs. Also, several onimenuts are provided with specified spaces in lateral and longitudinal directions of the leg plates.
