PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide disk device interface equipment which can be easily handled without making it necessary to newly execute additional mounting, and can reduce the number of cable connection wires with high speed transfer. SOLUTION: Disk device interface equipment is provided with 16-bit data parallel/serial converting and transmitting/receiving and inputting/outputting parts 1 and 2 for converting each bit of a parallel signal into one serial signal in a prescribed bit sequence at least for a data line, and for bi-directionally transmitting and receiving the signal by a pair of differential serial transmission. In this case, a device address signal S1 of an address decode part 8 of a host is used as the frame signal of the serial transmission. Thus, it is not necessary to add any serial communication protocol for confirming complicate connection, and to read and write data by connecting an ATA/ATAPI disk device as it is.
