<p>An automatic path setting apparatus for a synchronous communication system equipped with a network management system (NMS) is provided which relieves the operator of the labor associated with routing and which permits prompt and reliable line settings. A line connection information storing element in the NMS stores information about line connection states of individual NEs. A specified information receiving element receives specified information about new path setting, and a path searching element searches for a path conforming to the specified information received by the specified information receiving element by referring to the information stored in the line connection information storing element.</p> |
