PURPOSE:To assure necessary sound production and to decrease necessary sound generation systems by corresponding and grouping the sound production systems and MIDI channels. CONSTITUTION:The musical tone waveforms formed by the device for forming and outputting the musical tone waveforms in accordance with the performance information inputted via an MIDI interface 14 are outputted to a sound system, etc., via an interface 18. These musical tone waveforms are controlled by a CPU 10. One or plural external performance information input channels, i.e. MIDI channels and one or plural sound production systems are corresponded and grouped. The musical tones of the performance information are produced by any of the sound production systems of the group to which any of the external performance information input channels belongs when the performance information is inputted from any of this external performance information input channel. The sound production systems of the respective groups are no longer occupied by the performance information of the MIDI channels of the other groups in this way and the need for the many sound production systems and the deficiency of the sound production system are eliminated. |
