TIME DECODING METHOD FOR B-VOP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for multiplexing video object images that are encoded by different encoders. SOLUTION: A local time reference that is inserted to compressed data is encoded in two sections; the 1st section has a module time reference denoting a specific interval in a collated time reference and the 2nd section has an increment of a relative time reference on the basis of the reference time. A decoder decodes a modulo time reference of a B-VOP and a time reference increment of the B-VOP to decide the local time reference of the B-VOP.
