Stretching cylinder - for tensile rubber material with an air cushion between cylinder and material

The rubber material is held at the sides by angled discs rotating on bearings round a common hollow shaft for the discs and the stretching cylinder. Compressed air is fed in through the hollow shaft at 0.5-1.0 atmos. to build up an air cushion between the cylinder surface and the rubber material being stretched for width. Quiet running is provided without a separate drive for the stretching cylinder, to give an equal effect across the whole width of the material.
