PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable excellent reproduction to be performed from an optical information recording medium which has a rewritable area by setting the relative depth of uneven pits previously recorded in a read-only area to 1/(10×n) times as large as reproduction light wavelength. SOLUTION: The optical information recording medium is characterized by that the difference in height between recessed and projection parts in the read-only area where pits representing an information signals by recesses and projections are formed on a transparent substrate 1 is set to 1/(10×n) times as large as the reproduction light wavelength, where (n) is the refractive index of the transparent substrate and the reflected light of readout light is reduced by irradiating recessed or projection parts with laser light and lowering the transmissivity of a recording layer 3 at parts corresponding to the recessed or projection parts. |
